The warm, dusty weather that hit Israel last week will be replaced this week by cool weather and rain storms, weather forecasters say.

Rain fell Saturday in many parts of the country. Scattered showers are expected to continue Sunday, and temperatures are expected to drop noticeably.

There is a significant risk of flooding near rivers and riverbeds in the south and east of the country.

Temperatures will drop further on Monday, forecasters say, and rain will continue, although the rain showers will become lighter over the course of the day.

Rain showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue on Tuesday and Wednesday as well. Temperatures will remain unusually low for the season.

Temperatures for Sunday are expected to range from 13-21 (55.4-70 Fahrenheit) in Kiryat Shemona, Nahariya and Haifa, from 14-22 (57-71.6) in Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, and Maaleh Adumim, from 12-18 (53.6-64.4) in Jerusalem, and from 17-27 (62.8-80.6) in Eilat.
