Israel-U.S. Recipes: Eggs, Netanyahu Style

This recipe is dedicated to the health of Israel's Prime Minister.

Igal Kovriga is an internationally known master chef who served as executive chef of the Princess, Daniel and Hadar Dimol Hotels and at restaurants the world over where he achieved Michelin star ratings. 

Ingredients:

1 egg

1 tomato

1 slice of bread

1 avocado

1 fresh garlic clove

vinegar, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper

Heat oil in skillet and add half of the tomato, cubed, and half the garlic clove, chopped fine. Mix and saute for a few minutes, then push to the side of the pan.

Make a hole in the middle of the slice of bread and place in the pan next to the tomato. Once the bread has set, break the egg into a cup and slide into the hole in the bread. Cover. When set, turn the bread and egg over.

Prepare a salad to accompany the dish: Cube avocado and the other tomato half. Add the other half of the chopped garlic clove, season with olive oil, small amount of vinegar and sugar.  

Serving suggestion: Place salad on one half of a dish, bread and egg covered with the tomato mixture and a parsley leaf on the other half.
