Labor party head Yitzchak Herzog on Thursday slammed Economics Minister Naftali Bennett for his performance in office. Bennett, he said, was directing policies that would end up hurting the state.
At an annual Labor party event for Histadrut labor union-affiliated businesses, Herzog said that Bennett was a “post-Zionist whose policies guarantee the end of the Jewish and democratic character of the state. He will cause an economic and labor collapse.”
Bennett's capitalist policies were the cause of “major social gaps that are a strategic threat to the country. His 'round table' policy decisions are not working,” Herzog said.
“The Economics Ministry is seeking to confront Israelis and make life harder for them, not solve problems. This will hurt growth. He has declared an economic war on businesses and workers, and he is thus upsetting the agreements that have sustained Israel until now.”
