MK Nissim Ze'ev (Shas) was part of a delegation that traveled to Germany last week, along with Samaria Regional Council Head Gershon Mesika, his deputy Yossi Dagan and other representatives from Samaria.

The delegation from Samaria focused their talks with German Bundestag members on the issue of the European boycott of products from Judea and Samaria, while Ze'ev spoke more generally about delegitimization of Israel.

"There is ignorance there and not just hostility,” he said. The perception of Israel as an occupying power stems from such ingnorance, he said, and can be undone by presenting the truth. At a round table dicussion with parliamentarians and academicians, Ze'ev presented facts about Palestinian Authority (PA) incitement against Israel, and explained that the PA supports Hitler's world view and sees itself as his heir.

The visit to Germany follows a similar visit to Romania and a visit by a former Romanian president to Samaria. Ze'ev says that in visits of this type, the Israeli delegation seeks out pro-Israel lawmakers and others who are undecided and can be brought over to the pro-Israel camp.

MK Ze'ev also spoke to Sheikh Hojjat Ramzy, an imam from London, who he says acknowledged that the Jews have a right to the Land of Israel. Also present at the meeting was Rabbi Itzhak Dayan, Rabbi of Geneva.
