An 11 year old boy has been killed and 4 more have been seriously injured in a car crash outside of the Bedouin community of Hura, Maariv reports.

The accident occurred at about 11 am, when a van-type vehicle struck five children, aged 11-15, who were walking to the nearby council building of the village.

Magen David Adom (MDA) rescue forces, who arrived at the scene, provided care to the injured and had to declare the death of the 11 year-old. They also noted that three of the four seriously injured children suffer from multi-system wounds.

MDA paramedic Guy Sadeh, who was among the first at the scene, related, "When we arrived we saw a very serious accident. On the traffic island was a private vehicle and on the pavement next to it lay five injured children, ages 11 to 15. Everyone was on the ground outside the vehicle."

"One of the children, a boy of about 11, was lying on the pavement unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse," Sadeh continued. "A nurse and a doctor from a nearby hospital were at the scene and attempted to perform CPR on the boy. The situation was extremely difficult - eventually we had to pronounce him dead at the scene," Sadeh recounts.

Of the rest, there were 4 casualties, including one who was semi-conscious with head injuries and a multi-system injury. "We took care of the wounded in the field, and after stabilizing their condition we evacuated them to ambulances and mobile intensive care units at nearby Soroka Hospital," said Sadeh.

3 of the injured have been reported to be in serious condition and one in moderate condition. It is still unclear what caused the accident.
