PA Police Shoot Man to Death in Shechem

Palestinian Authority police attacked with rocks after shooting dead a man in an attempted arrest operation.

Palestinian Authority security forces have shot dead a man in refugee camp in the Shechem are late Tuesday, officials and witnesses said. 

Amjad Odeh, 37, was killed in an exchange of fire between the security forces and a wanted man. 

Odeh was taken to Rafidia hospital were he was pronounced dead. There were reports of other injuries. 

Following the clashes dozens of rioters attacked PA forces with rocks, according to witnesses. Local residents and activists have circulated pictures of the aftermath, showing torched cars and the body of a man, believed to be Odeh.

The shooting comes only one day after PA officials issued fierce condemnations of Israel, following the death of 3 Arab rioters after an IDF arrest operation came under attack in almost identical circumstances in Kalandia, north of Jerusalem.
