A baby who had been born only a few hours earlier was found Saturday near the Damascus Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem.
The baby was placed at the entrance to a building and discovered by two residents who live in the building. The called Magen David Adom, which sent an ambulance whose crew gave her initial treatment and assessed that she was not in a life threatening condition. Her umbilical cord was still attached to her.
A note in Arabic next to the baby girl said: “This is my daughter Osana, take care of her.”
The baby was taken to Hadassah Har Hatzofim Hospital in the capital. Police have begun to investigate the incident.
