4 skinless and boneless chicken breasts, cut in cubes
2-3 tbs. flour mixed with salt, garlic and black pepper
1 can tomato sauce + 2 cups of water
2 garlic cubes (or fresh garlic) + 2 tbs. dried basil leaves
Salt and pepper to taste (or 2 tbs. soup mix)
Oil for sautéing chicken
Put the seasoned flour in a plastic bag, add the cubed chicken, hold closed and shake to coat the chicken.
Heat oil in a skillet, add the coated chicken and stir to prevent sticking, saute just until white and not dry.
Place in oven proof dish.
Mix the tomato sauce, water, garlic and basil with other seasonings and pour over chicken to cover.
Cover dish and bake at 180 C. for 45-55 minutes.
Red wine may be added to the liquid for the last 10 minutes.
