7-Year-Old Left in Car; Frees Himself after 2 Hours
Police are investigating another case of a child left inside of a vehicle. This time it happened on Lincoln Street in Tel Aviv.
The 7-year-old boy was left inside of a children’s transportation vehicle for the duration of 2 hours on Thursday morning. He managed to free himself and get out of the car. Witnesses notified the father of the child by telephone and took him to a medical facility for a checkup.
While the forecast for Thursday’s weather reached a "low" of 24C/75F degrees, the child was still said to have been affected by being left behind.
This case is the most recent in a string of sometimes tragic incidents in which children were left in cars in Israel during the summer months.
Recently, 14-month-old twins were left in a parked car in Nazareth, and an 8-month-old baby was left for 20 minutes in a car after witnesses spotted her. In both incidences the babies were rescued.
Earlier this summer, a five-month-old infant died after she was forgotten in a vehicle in the village of Shilo. A similar incident occurred when a nine-month-old baby was found unconscious and later pronounced dead after having been left for several hours in a vehicle in Ramat Gan.
