Josie Arbel, director of klita and programs at the Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel (AACI), gave a few tips to olim (new immigrants) on how to ease their absorption into life in Israel.
Arbel spoke to Arutz Sheva at a huge aliyah event which took place last week in Jerusalem, during which she led a panel on successful absorption.
She suggested that new immigrants look into information that pertains to their specific situation, be it army service, studies, or information for families with children.
“The myth of the scary Israeli bureaucracy,” she said, “is because when you’re a new oleh you have to do a lot at once. But it’s not hard, and what’s important is accurate information and good advice. The information is out there. Everything is doable when you’re prepared. There’s no need to be frightened by the bureaucracy.”
