Two Israeli soldiers were among the four people who were killed in Sunday’s accident on Highway 6, it was cleared for publication Sunday evening.

The two soldiers are Hai Ben-Naim, 19, of Rishon LeZion, and Kfir Dahari, 22, of Yavne. The names of two other victims have yet to be released. Three other IDF soldiers were among the 26 people injured in the accident.

The accident took place at around 1:00 p.m. when a bus that was travelling from Rishon LeZion to Be’er Sheva hit a garbage truck that had stopped on the side of the road.

Police are continuing to investigate what caused the accident and it remains unclear which of the two drivers, both of whom were lightly injured, caused the accident. The two were detained for questioning.

The company which owns the garbage truck said that its driver reported that he pulled over to the side of the highway due to engine failure, about half an hour before the accident. The company added that the driver even placed a warning triangle near the truck.
