Deputy Knesset Speaker Moshe Feiglin, a rookie Knesset member for Likud, showed some of the mettle he is famous for last week in a Knesset debate on a government plan for relocating Bedouins in the Negev.
When confronted with repeated disruptions by Arab MKs, Feiglin ejected them from the plenum one after the other.
The debate highlighted the confidence that Arab MKs openly hostile to Israel exhibit in the Knesset regularly. MK Feiglin recently told MK Ahmed Tibi that no minority is as spoiled as Israel's Arabs.
“I know of no other minority in the entire human race that receives so much, and wails so much,” he said.
The Arab MKs regularly use Knesset debates as an opportunity to exhibit their contempt for the Jewish state and its sovereignty. They are used to being ejected from the plenum and often appear to relish such opportunities to receive publicity, but at a certain point it appeared that Feiglin's determination to remove all troublemakers was more than they had bargained for.
MK Abu Arar told MK Feiglin, as he was being escorted out, "You are not the right person to sit [at the Speaker's seat]," to which MK Feiglin responded with amusement.
