After being endorsed by American billionaire Donald Trump, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday received another surprising endorsement - this time from famed actor Chuck Norris.
Just like the endorsement from Trump, the man behind Norris’s endorsement is Jonny Daniels, an Israeli public relations agent who counts among his clients many American celebrities and business officials in Israel.
Daniels, who asked Trump to endorse Netanyahu, said on Thursday that he was flooded with requests from communications and industrial giants from around the world, all of whom wanted to jump on the bandwagon and express their support for Israel’s Prime Minister.
Norris’s request, said Daniels, was particularly moving.
“When I got the phone call from my friend Chuck Norris, I was excited,” Daniels said. “Chuck and I have known each other for a number of years and we’ve often collaborated with one another.”
“Israel has true friends all over the world, and there is support and deep appreciation for Binyamin Netanyahu as prime minister and leader,” he noted.
In the video released Thursday, Norris is heard saying, “You might think I’m a tough guy in my films, but in a rough neighborhood like the Middle East, Israel has its own tough guy. His name is Bibi Netanyahu.”
Norris lists some of Netanyahu’s accomplishments, including enlisting world countries to sanction Iran, building a wall along Israel’s southern border, stopping the missile attacks on the country and reaching the decision to free Gilad Shalit from Hamas captivity.
