Ari Abramowitz and Jeremy Gimpel, known for their Tuesday Night Live in Jerusalem TV show and A Light Unto the Nations podcast on Arutz Sheva - Israel National Radio are running for the Knesset. The two will hold a live televised event in Jerusalem featuring three candidates for the head of the Jewish Home Party, known is Hebrew as the Bayit Yehudi Party, which is holding primaries.

The three candidates are Knesset Minister Daniel Hershkowitz, Member of Knesset Zevulun Orlev, and Naftali Bennett.

Jeremy Gimpel spoke to the News & Views call-in show with Tamar Yonah on Arutz Sheva - Israel National Radio about their future plans.

The two were also interviewed by Arutz Sheva TV.

"It's all about a true, faith-based message in a Jewish voice, instead of pragmatic politicians," Gimpel stated.

He said that unlike the past, the Jewish Home Party, formerly known as the National Religious Party (Mafdal), is holding primaries for leadership positions and slots on the party list. Many smaller political parties do not hold primaries but appoint leadership positions. Several slots on the Jewish Home list are reserved for young leadership, which is what Abramowitz and Gimpel aspire to join.

"Israel is the most delightful country in the Middle East, and at the same time we are one of the most hated around the world," Gimpel stated.

He explained, "the religious Zionist community living in Judea and Samaria and cities around Israel are the brightest light that Israel has to offer. We serve in the army, we educate our children with Torah and secular knowledge, we work and pay taxes, we volunteer for the greater good of Israel. And yet within Israeli society, those who wear kippot and live in Judea and Samaria are often the most demonized."

"The problem is the usual one," Gimpel continued. "We have not been successful in delivering our message to the world or within Israel. And we are going, with G-d's help, to breath a fresh breath of air into the religious Zionist movement."

Jeremy Gimpel is a reserve officer in the Israel Defense Force. Ari Abramowitz is a reserve soldier in Gimpel's unit. They have both been interviewed in media outlets around the world.

Minister Hershkowitz is a rabbi, professor and the current head of the party. MK Orlev is a long-time Member of Knesset and former Minister of Welfare and Social Services. Bennett is a high-tech businessman, Benyamin Netanyahu's former Chief of Staff and former CEO of the Council of Judea and Samaria.

The event will be held July 4th at Heichal Shlomo in Jerusalem. Entrance is free. To reserve seat visit www.TheLandOfIsrael.com.
