The "central" Mimouna celebration was held Saturday at Moshav Gimzo, near Jerusalem, with the participation of Rav Yashiyahu Pinto.

Thousands attended the celebration, hosted at the home of Gimzo resident Yosi Amos. They included Ministers Eli Yishai (Shas) and Yisrael Katz (Likud), MKs Leah Ness, Carmel Shamah-Hacohen (Likud) and Binyamin Ben Eliezer (Labor), former Head of IDF Personnel Branch Maj. Gen. Avi Zamir, outgoing Shin Bet Deputy Head Doron Weiss, Maj. Gen. (ret.) Aryeh Amit, businessman Arkadi Gaydemak and other well-known figures from the political, security and business establishments.

The participants enjoyed the traditional Mimouna dishes and heard a Torah sermon from Rav Pinto, who blessed all of the guests and called on the Nation of Israel to unite in the face of the financial and security challenges facing it.
