Thousands of Chabad emissaries prayed at the grave of the Rebbe of Lubavitch on Friday, asking for HaShem’s (G-d's) help. The graveside event culminated several days of learning Torah at the Chabad conference in New York.

The emissaries, who are rabbis at thousands of Chabad centers all over the world, from the most remote areas to closer to the West, wrote notes to HaShem which they feel will be facilitated through the sprit of the Rebbe, whose spiritual leadership helped turn the Chabad Lubavitch organization into a universal household word and helped thousands of Jews return to Judaism.

Every written message began with a prayer “to awaken mercy for the body, spirit and soul.” The rabbis explained that the notes were read at the entrance to the huge tent at the site and then were torn and left at the grave.
