MK Avi Dichter (Kadima) slammed Kadima chairwoman Tzipi Livni on Saturday, saying she “is no recipe for a solution."

Dichter, whose comments were made while attending cultural events in Holon, is planning to challenge Livni for leadership of the party.

"Instead of fighting liars, Tzipi Livni joined them. Instead of attacking the villains who have mishandled public funds, she joins them," Dichter said, referring to a report by State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss citing irregularities in Kadima's inner workings and unpaid debts held by the party.

"The problematic behavior of Kadima mechanisms comes at the expense of elected officials and, worse, at the expense of public funds. Tzipi is  no recipe for a solution, but perpetuating the problem," he said.

Asked about Livni's now overturned refusal to hold early primaries, Dichter said, "Ignoring the demands of Knesset members to conduct primaries is not democratic and certainly doesn't befit the would-be party leader."

During the events Dichter, a former Shin Bet director and Minister of Internal Security, referred to the renewed anti-regime protests in Egypt.

"The Muslim Brotherhood is our main problem," Dichter said. "They do not think in terms of statesmanship, but in terms of an Islamist Caliphate. This is the strategic goal of the Muslim Brotherhood."

"The connection between Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, which is just an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, would turn Gaza into an outpost for their real aspiration - a contiguous Islamic Caliphate - should the Brotherhood seize power," Dichter warned.

"All this is done without regard to the alleged peace treaty between Israel and Egypt," Dichter explained. "The Muslim Brotherhood issues daily calls for Israel's destruction."
