Bibi Gets Birthday Surprise at Work
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu received a pleasant surprise at work on Sunday – a birthday party complete with a cake and candles. His wife and children appeared in his office for the festivities.
The party, organized by Netanyahu’s staff, was also attended by several top ministers. Even political rivals took the time to stop in and wish the Prime Minister a happy birthday.
A large cake was inscribed with the words, “Prime Minister, we love you and are proud of you. Mazal tov on your 62nd birthday.”
Netanyahu’s staff threw him a surprise party last year as well. Ministers who attended this year’s celebration said they “couldn’t really tell if [Netanyahu] was surprised or not,” but that everyone took time to wish him well.
Netanyahu has had a busy year, complete with confrontations with the Palestinian Authority, revolutions in the Arab world, security shake-ups, massive social protests in Israel, and the recent deal to free Gilad Shalit. In his personal life, the prime minister seems to be doing well: he welcomed a new grandchild this year, and doctors say he is in excellent health.
