IDF Reservists’ Appreciation Week was kicked off Sunday.
The week is intended to recognize reservists (“miluimnikim”) for their contributions to Israel's security over the years.
“The reserve system represents a central component of Israel's defense network, both during times of quiet and during times of war,” the IDF Spokesman’s Unit said.
A number of events will be held during the week, including a ceremony Monday to honor outstanding reservists, a day of appreciation for reservists the in the Knesset and a cabinet meeting on the topic of reservists.
“One of the goals of the IDF is to look after the well-being of its reservists and to ensure that each reservist knows that he or she was called up for an important mission and was given the means to carry out that mission,” the IDF said.
