Residents of Samaria Foil Arab Terrorist Attack
An Arab terrorist armed with a commando knife tried to stab residents in the Revava community in Samaria around noon Wednesday. They struggled and overpowered him, wounding him lightly. None of the residents was injured. The terrorist, apparently a young teenager, lunged at passersby with his knife until two residents were able to stop him.
He suffered light wounds to his head and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Earlier in the week, police swarmed over the community and violently fought against residents who were protesting the entry of Civil Lands Administration authorities who came to enforce orders prohibiting Jews from building new homes.
The terrorist attack was the second in Samaria in less than a week, not including dozens of rock throwing and firebomb attacks on Jewish vehicles. On Friday, a terrorist tried to infiltrate into the community of Yitzhar northern Samaria, near Shechem. A civilian first-response force chased after the would-be attacker, but he escaped to a neighboring Arab village.
Elsewhere in Judea and Samaria, the IDF continued its nightly counterterrorist maneuvers in an attempt to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure that Palestinian Authority special forces are mandated to control. Eleven suspects were arrested in Shechem, where elite IDF forces Tuesday night arrested the Islamic Jihad terrorist who planned a suicide attack that was carried out several years ago, wounding 28 people, and who had planned to kidnap soldiers.
