The end of the Shavuot holiday in the south was punctuated Wednesday evening with a fresh salvo of four rockets fired by terrorists from Gaza.

Three rockets exploded in the Sderot area, sending residents racing for the shelters for the second time that day. A fourth rocket scored a direct hit on a stable in Kibbutz Nir Am south of Ashkelon, killing a pregnant mare.

Of the rockets that landed in Sderot, one landed in the city, sending a woman into shock. The other two exploded on the outskirts of the city. No damage was reported.

Earlier, a rocket landed during morning prayers, exploding in an open area on the outskirts of the city. The Color Red alert system sounded in time to allow a few seconds for residents to reach shelters and other safe areas. No one was hurt and no damage was reported.

At least 13 rockets were fired by Gaza terrorists at the western Negev on Tuesday.
