Handcuffed Palestinian Tries to Escape, Is Shot in Leg

Border guards near the Tapuah checkpoint have arrested a Palestinian man who was wanted for questioning.

The suspect was handcuffed and brought to the checkpoint, at which point he asked to use the bathroom. The guards let him relieve himself, but upon leaving he pushed one of the guards and tried to escape to the nearby village.

The guards chased after him. One fired a warning shot into the air. When the man did not stop, the guard shot him in the lower body and arrested him.

Paramedics and border guard combat medics gave the man first aid and evacuated him to a hospital.
