MK Lavie: If Conversion Law Doesn't Pass There Will Be Civil Revolution

The Immigration Absorption and Diaspora Affairs Committee met this morning (Monday) to discuss the the damage that may be done to those requesting conversion due to the efforts to block the new "conversion law" being proposed.

"I am very sorry that the Prime Minister is impeding the progress of this law, in contradiction to the government's previous promises," said Committee Chairman MK Yoel Razvozov (Yesh Atid), adding, "This is an opportunity for the government to solve a problem that distances many from the Diaspora and creates a sector of second-class citizens in Israel."

MK Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid) noted, "If this law does not pass, there will be a civil revolution - and we will be the sinner, the criminals, and the murders who with our own hands are preventing those who wish to to join the Jewish people."
