Avital Rokah's Ex-Husband's Arrest Extended by Nine Days

Shmuel Ditiashvili, estranged husband of 45-year-old Avital Rokah, whom he stabbed to death yesterday in the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Neve Ya'akov, was brought before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court this morning (Friday) and had the terms of his arrest extended by nine days.

According to a report by Kol Yisrael (Israel Radio), Rokah had called police on August 29 to report he had attacked her. Following his arrest, he was released, but with a restraining order made out against him.

Ditiashvili was arrested shortly after the killing, still in possession of the knife thought to be the murder weapon.
