Report: Palestinian Arabs Stranded in Egypt Permitted to Return to Saudi Arabia

Over 100 Gazan Palestinian Arabs stranded at Cairo’s International Aiport for more than four weeks have finally been permitted to travel to Saudia Arabia today (Thursday), according to a report by the Ma’an news agency.

One of those waiting permission, Muhammad Abu Hamad, related that the Palestinain Embassy had requested that Saudi Arabia allow the stranded passengers to receive special permits to enter the country, but that Egypt had denied the Gazans, who work in Saudi Arabia, to travel due to expired visa permits because they were not able to leave Gaza during Operation Protective Edge.

The 100 were able to escape to Egypt during one of the ceasefires, but Egyptian authorities prevented them from continuing on to Saudi Arabia.
