Beit Shemesh: Hareidi Female Students Forced to Stay in State Schools

The Beit Shemesh municipality on Wednesday refused to back down from forcibly installing an ultra-Orthodox elementary school into an existing secular elementary school, even after the Jerusalem Magistrates Court ruled that the newcomers cannot “[use] any part of the Safot V’Tarbuyot School building without a written permit from the Education Ministry.

The Jerusalem District Court today (Thursday) acquiesced to that demand, insisting that the female students must continue to learn at the state-run school, despite the Ministry of Education's conditions, claiming that the Ministry had no jurisdiction in this instance.
