Germany to Compensate Holocaust Survivors Who Were Children During WWII

75,000 Holocaust survivors who lived in the ghettos, concentration camps, living under fake identities, or in hiding during the Holocaust years are now to receive a one-time grant of €2,500 (approximately 12,000 shekels) to compensate for their lost childhood during World War II.

The program will be set up through The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, with the Holocaust Children's Fund seeing $250 million to accomplish its purpose.
