IDF, Wary of Tunnels, Moves Base from Lebanese Border

Although IDF leadership has been denying the existence of a terror tunnel system in the north coming in from Lebanon, their actions of late appear to contradict those denials.

Northern Command leader, Major General Yair Golan,met last month with the mayors and other leaders of communities on the northern confrontation line, addressing their concerns that Hezbollah was creating a terror tunnel network similar to what had been discovered in Gaza. Golan reassured them by telling them that although the IDF was prepared for any possibility, there had been no intelligence whatsoever confirming the presence of such a threat.

But Arutz Sheva has learned, contrary to what the IDF is publicly claiming, that the military has been quietly evacuating a base on the Lebanese border out of a fear that a tunnel may have been built under the base, and that if Hezbollah terrorists decide to blow it, it would cause a good many casualties.
