The Ukraine’s security council confirmed today (Monday) that they had withdrawn their troops from Luhansk airport “in an organized fashion”, according to a report by the BBC. However, clashes are still allegedly taking place in Donetsk, with separatists laying claim that two of the Ukrainian platoons have surrendered.
The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, is pushing for negotiators to meet in Minsk and set an “immediate ceasefire” as their priority. Approximately 2,600 people have died in the eastern Ukraine since the onset of fighting this past April.
Additionally, there were also reports of a Ukrainian patrol vessel coming under attack in the Azov Sea last night.
