Residents of moshav Netiv Ha'asara, which is located adjacent to the border by the northern Gaza Strip, were surprised to discover last night (Sunday) that the IDF unit that had been stationed there since the onset of Protective Edge had left and had not been replaced. According to a report by Channel 2, contrary to what the residents are saying, a source within the IDF is claiming that "Givati soldiers are stationed outside the location and providing security for the residents."
Penina Ragolsky, chairperson of the moshav's central committee, and responsible for its security, has asked the military to look into the situation. "The senior commanders don't seem to know what is going on in the area. They are claiming they are here and that there are troops here at all times - so how does something like this happen," she asked. "There is a serious problem going on," she added.
