During her appearance on Channel 2's "Meet the Press", Minister of Justice Tzipi Livni spoke about the ending of Operation Protective Edge, and likewise offered criticism of some of her fellow cabinet ministers. Livni responded to statements made by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu where he stated that he would not conduct negotiations with Abbas as long as a unity government with Hamas exists.
"This would be a serious error," she said. "We say that we won't speak with anyone who has an agreement with Hamas...but we made agreements with Hamas. It is ridiculous," she added.
"The public deserves to know the truth - that the negotiations taking place in Cairo are with the Hamas unity government," she said.
