Attorney Itamar Ben Gvir offered harsh criticism this morning (Friday) in regards to Minister of Justice Tzipi Livni's speech last night at the National Conference of Judges and Registrars. In front of hundreds of judges who attended the conference, Livni said that those aligned with the right, "their expressing themselves is not covered under freedom of speech. Speech that can incite and invite violence is not part of a democracy - it undermines it."
Ben Gvir responded to Livni's comments by saying that she had crossed the line permitted to her. If it were up to her, she'd order peoples' arrests, determine a verdict and execute a sentence as she sees fit," he said, adding "Livni is a politician, and by no means should she ever be allowed to dictate this or any other judicial policy, then asking for other legal professionals to join her in her pursuits."
