The Executive Director of the Organization of Security Companies, Pini Schiff, sent an irate letter today (Monday) to Brigadier General Amitai Levy, head of the Israel Police security branch, castigating him for his plans to initiate a lower level of security presence in hotels. In the letter, Schiff asks Levy "Why does the Internal Security unit of the Israel Police find at this particular time that it is fitting to reduce security presence, when it should be the opposite. This should be a first-class priority, as it involves hundreds of businesses in the public venue."
Schiff claims that that, "It is well known to a handful of people why this policy has been adopted. There has been no change in security assessment and there has been no change in the security threat level. And this is due to lobbyists who would rather save money at the expense of public safety."
