6.0 Earthquake Hits Northern California's Napa Valley

An earthquake with a 6.0 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Northern California’s Napa Valley early this morning (Sunday), the largest temblor the Valley has seen in nearly 25 years.

The earthquake struck at approximately 3:25 a.m. local time near American Canyon, which is approximately 6 miles southwest of Napa, according to the USGS (United States Geological Service), and is the largest temblor to hit the area since the 1989 Loma Prieta temblor.
