East Hevron: 2 Arrested on Possession of Drugs, Stolen Judaica


This morning (Tuesday) Police and Border Police conducted a search in an eastern Hevron residence which uncovered a substantial amount of drugs and stolen Judaica.

The search yielded a large amount of suspected drugs and Judaica, including 48 ecstasy pills, two pallets of hashish, a large cannabis plant, and four bags of 'Nice Guy' (a synthetic marijuana which is illegal). In addition to the drugs, police also found Hannukah menorahs, candlesticks, lamps, and other items used in Jewish rituals which are suspected to have been stolen.

The owner, an Arab in his 30s, was arrested for possession of illegal substances for more than personal use, and possession of stolen property.  During the search, the man's sister attacked the officers and was placed under arrest as well. In addition, his motorcycle was impounded and NIS 3,000 cash, for being obtained and used in the commission of criminal acts.
