Clashes Between Teens and Police in Beit Shemesh

During the course of the night (Monday), Beit Shemesh police were notified of noise and screams emanating from an apartment in an abandoned building. When police arrived, they were refused entrance by the youths in the building, who started to throw bottles at the officers standing outside of the building.

A firefighter was called in to break down the door, which revealed 2 boys, aged 18 and 19, and 2 girls, aged 16 and 17, respectively. Also found in the apartment were an air pistol, bottles of alcohol, and what is suspected to be illegal drugs. A fifth youth was caught trying to escape through a window.

All five were taken in for questioning by the Beit Shemesh police, and will be brought to court today for a remand hearing.
