Gen. (res.) Yom Tov Samia, former commander of the Southern Command appeared on 'Meet the Press', and said that we should have taken pre-emptive measures in regards to the terror tunnels, independent of Hamas's actions.
"The public is not yet fully aware of the hit Hamas took as a results of our operation. Hamas would agree to things right now that it never would have agreed to in the past - the destruction of their tunnels was a mortal blow," he said.
"The Prime Minister's instructions with regards to the tunnels were clearer than they'd ever been, but this is the first time the IDF was given a full go-ahead, and took care of every tunnel it knew about. But that it would not be responsible to say that there may not be more," he added.
