Several Pro-Palestinian organizations, together with radical leftist organizations, (including some that are Jewish), continue organizing anti-Israel demonstrations across Canada. On July 30th, the "Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid" (CAIA) held a demonstration in downtown Toronto's Dundas Square.
One of the speakers at the demonstration was Issam Al-Yamani, director of "Palestinian House" which represents the Palestinian community in Canada, as well as a member of the Coordinating Committee of CAIA. Al-Yamani was previously a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and in 2006 was issued an expulsion order from Canada which, to date, has not been executed.
In his speech, al-Yamani called for Abbas to declare an Intifada by Palestinians, even outside of Israel, until the Palestinians regain its 'entire homeland'.
