Foreign Diplomats Briefed on Protective Edge

The Foreign Ministry held a briefing for 71 ambassadors and other diplomats, Thursday, regarding the humanitarian aspect of the Protective Edge counter-terrorism campaign. Executive director Nissim Ben-Sheetrit told them Israel's goal is a demilitarized Gaza with terror tunnels blocked. He also discussed improvement in the lives of noncombattants the day after the end of the fighting.

Ben-Sheetrit's message for the international community was, "Understand the nature of the challenge facing Israel and avoid excessive criticism," and expressed appreciation to the foreign representatives for remaining in Israel despite the rocket fire."
