Shekel, US Dollar and Euro Up - Pound and Yen Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .185 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.429, unchanged from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined 1.24 percent to 4.5899 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.7878 shekels, down .322 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .593 percent to NIS 3.3338. The Canadian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.1427, down .421 percent, while its Australian counterpart slumped .757 percent to 3.1876 shekels and the South African rand was set at .3207 shekels, down .804 percent.
