Convicted Officials Won't be Ministers for 14 Years

The Knesset approved on Tuesday evening the second and third readings of a bill by MK Moshe Mizrahi (Labor), stipulating that someone who was convicted of a crime during his tenure as a Knesset member or a member of the Government, shall not be appointed a government minister for a period of 14 years.

The period of 14 years will be counted from the day the MK completed their sentence or from the date of the ruling, whichever is later.
