The Committee for Security and Foreign Affars today (Tuesday) approved the second and third readings of a bill that was introduced at the behest of MK Ze'ev Elkin (Likud), together with other MK's. The bill states that terrorists who are released as the result of political negotiations will not receive amnesty, but only will be released on parole.
MK Elkin, the Committee's chairman, commented that, "Especially in these days, when Hamas terrorists continue in their attempts to kidnap soldiers, it is of utmost important to make it clear to them and other terror organizations that kidnapping will not pay off."
"Each kidnapping will return terrorists to prison and they will not be released," he emphasized.
Today the law is to come up before the Knesset plenum for final approval.
