Two Soldiers Succumb to Wounds


The IDF spokesman released the names of two IDF soldiers who died today (Shabbat) from wounds sustained last week in battle.

One of the officers was Captain Liad Lavi, 22, from Talmei Yosef, and who served in the Infantry. Capt. Lavi died from his wounds in the hospital after being wounded this past Thursday, during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip.

The second casualty was Sgt.-Maj. Rami Kahlon, 39, from Hadera, who served with the Paratroopers. He passed away in the hospital today (Shabbat) after having been wounded this past Tuesday while fighting on the Gaza border. The funeral for the fallen Sgt. Maj. will take place tomorrow (Sunday) at the Hadera Military Cemetery.
