Spokesman Motti Almoz of the Israel Defense Forces cited Hamas, Thursday evening, for putting Gaza citizens in harms way in the case of a school run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Gaza which was shelled on Thursday. Interviewed by Channel 10 Television, the brigadier general called it "another incident in which Hamas put civilians on the front lines," adding that the IDF had asked international organizations working in Gaza to tell Hamas to stop firing from civilian areas.
Almoz said, "Apparently there was a misfired shot, either ours or by Hamas. These things are being examined now. We shot there and it could be a misquided shell but we don't rule out Hamas fire throughout the [Gaza] Strip."
