Thousands Turn to Welfare and Social Services Hotline

Since the start of Operation Protective Edge, 4,535 calls have been made to the 118 hotline belonging to Israel’s Welfare and Social Services Ministry. 797 of the calls were regarding emergency situations.

The hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Callers can request service in Hebrew, English, Russian and Arabic.
