Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet, Tuesday afternoon at the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv, with Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations as the international community tries to achieve a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza terrorists.
Ban met, Monday in Cairo, with Secretary of State John Kerry of the United States, who started talks on Tuesday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and is scheduled to meet later with President Abdel Fattah As-Sisi, according to Agence France Presse. An anonymous U.S. official traveling with Kerry said, "If we could get both sides to agree on a ceasefire immediately that was relatively free of conditions, we would take that in a second. But it's going to require conversations with both parties on the ground." Kerry met early in the morning with Palestinian Authority
intelligence chief Majid Faraj.
