Herzog: I Wasn't Permitted to Meet Soldiers

Opposition leader MK Yitzhak Herzog (Labor) sent a letter of protest to the Defense Ministry on Wednesday, after he discovered that Economy Minister Naftali Bennett was allowed to meet with IDF soldiers in the south, while Herzog’s request to do the same was denied.

"We were astonished to discover through the media and social networks that Economy Minister Naftali Bennett met with reservists," Herzog’s office told Channel 2 News. "We have asked to find out whether the Defense Ministry approved the meeting between elected officials and reservists, and if not, whether the meetings were scheduled contrary to the guidelines of the Defense Ministry."
