Arab Hackers Sending Phony Messages in Shabak's Name

Phony messages purporting to come from the Israel Security Agency (ISA, Shabak, Shin Bet, General Security Service) were sent, Sunday afternoon. They included reports of attack plans and wounded in a number of places around the country as a result of rocket strikes.

The ISA responded by calling the reports the bogus work of Palestinian Authority hackers. The agency recommended not to forward the reports or open the links, which could expose a cellular or smart phone to viruses or mine personal information.
