Liberman Announces Split from Likud

Chairman Avigdor Liberman of the Yisrael Beytenu party announced, Monday, that the party is splitting from the Likud party. The foreign minister told a special news conference,  "differences of opinion between myself and the Prime Minister did not allow for a common framework."

Liberman continued, "We are the last who want dismantling this coalition," adding that political considerations were not involved. Referring to the latest round of rocket fire from Gaza, he said, "A reality in which a terrorist organization has hundreds of missiles is intolerable."
