Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange began the trading week, Sunday, with slight losses. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,258.55, down .02 percent, while the TA 100 slipped .07 percent to 1,259.28, and the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues were uchanged at 1,391.90. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,050.43, up .34 percent.
The bright spot was provided by the communications index, which rose .45 percent to 788.48. The oil and natural-gas index closed at 1,362.90, down .12 percent, while most of the technology issues declined .13 percent to 341.77 and the biomed stocks stood at 889.86, down 1.05 percent. The real-estate index fell .49 percent to 394.62 while the bank issues closed at 1,290.14, down .37 percent, as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,243.13, down .51 percent, including a loss of .86 percent to 1,506.52 by the insurance stocks.
